Calculate your potential engineering cost difference

Your figures, your assumption, your arithmetic. BELA supplies no salary, no rate and no multiplier — and no promise about what you will save.

What this is

This is a scenario calculator. You enter what the project would cost you to build the usual way, you set how much of the build you think BELA would carry, and it does the subtraction.

It is not a quotation and not a prediction. BELA has not seen your project, so any number it produces is yours rather than ours — which is exactly why every input below is yours to set.

Business impact

Your figures

Work it out with your own numbers

Enter what this project would cost you to build the usual way, and pick the BELA plan you would be on. Nothing here is sent anywhere, and nothing is saved.

How this is worked out
  • Your current cost = (team size × months × cost per developer per month) + (QA per month × months) + (maintenance per month × 12).
  • BELA plan cost = the plan’s own price, from BELA’s commercial configuration, multiplied by the months you entered — or by whole years where a plan is billed annually.
  • Difference = your current cost − the BELA plan cost. The percentage is that difference as a share of your current cost.
  • Nothing else is applied. No productivity multiplier, no assumed team reduction, no benchmark.

This is a scenario calculation based on the figures you entered and the plan you selected. It is not a quotation, a prediction or a guarantee, and it is not a promise that your engineering cost becomes the plan price — your own costs do not disappear on the day you adopt a tool. BELA has not assessed your project. A figure BELA stands behind comes from the Engineering Estimator reading a real project.

How this calculation works

Build cost is your team size multiplied by the number of months multiplied by your cost per developer per month.

The traditional total adds your QA cost over the same months, and twelve months of your maintenance cost after release.

The BELA-assisted total reduces the BUILD by the share you set, and leaves your QA and maintenance figures exactly as you entered them — BELA has no basis for changing those, so it does not touch them.

The difference is one total subtracted from the other. There is no other step, and nothing is weighted, adjusted or benchmarked behind the scenes.

Important assumptions

The share of the build you expect BELA to carry is an assumption YOU set. It is not a measurement, it is not an average across customers, and it is not a commitment. Move it and watch the answer move — that is the honest way to read this page.

Project size is expressed by the team size and duration you enter rather than by a dropdown, because a size-to-effort table would be a benchmark BELA invented, and an invented benchmark is the thing this calculator exists to avoid.

Every figure is in whatever currency you entered. Nothing is converted, and nothing is sent anywhere — the arithmetic happens in your browser and nothing is saved.

Not a guarantee

This is a scenario calculation based on the figures and assumptions you entered. It is not a guaranteed saving, a benchmark or a prediction.

A figure BELA will stand behind comes from the Engineering Estimator reading a real project — its entities, workflows and integrations. Describe your business and it can produce one.
